Migrant Students
We, at the Migrant Action Centre, stand in solidarity with migrant students and demand equal access to scholarships, grants, bursaries, and loans. Education is not just a matter of intellectual development but also a matter of personal fulfillment and the pursuit of one's dreams.
As we witness the challenges that international students face in their quest for higher education, our hearts are filled with compassion and a sense of justice. These students come from different parts of the world to seek a better future for themselves and their families. Yet, they are often met with systemic barriers that limit their access to financial support and opportunities for success.
Moreover, we call for the elimination of differential tuition fees for international students, as they perpetuate unequal treatment and discrimination. These fees serve as a constant reminder that international students are not welcome, not valued, and not seen as equal members of our community. How can we claim to be a just society when we charge students more simply because of where they come from?
We believe that education is a cornerstone of social justice and that access to education should not be determined by one's economic status, ethnicity, or country of origin. We stand with the international students in their fight for equal opportunities and the right to education.
Let us work together to break down these barriers, to support international students in their academic journey, and to create a more inclusive and equitable society. Because, in the end, their success is our success and their dreams are our dreams. Let us stand with them, with compassion and determination, to make their dreams a reality.
