MAC runs on solidarity: ours and yours. We are not a charity asking for your sympathy. We are a movement asking for your support. Every dollar goes toward organizing for migrant justice in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We will be honest with you: MAC is genuinely broke. We are an all-volunteer organization with no government funding, no corporate sponsors, and no endowment. What we have is a community that believes migrants deserve dignity, justice, and power, not pity.
Your donation does not go toward a salaried executive or a glossy report. It goes toward the work: showing up, organizing, educating, and building the collective power that actually changes things. Migrants did not create this system. Together, we can challenge it.
Delivering Migrant Justice 101 workshops to community groups, unions, schools, and organizations across Newfoundland and Labrador. Knowledge is the foundation of collective action.
Organizing collective actions, producing materials, and running campaigns that push for policy change and amplify migrant voices where decisions get made.
Running the Solidarity Circle and community events where migrants and supporters can connect, share, and build the relationships that sustain a movement.
Printing, tabling, postering, and maintaining the digital presence that helps us reach migrants who need support and supporters who want to get involved.
There is no minimum. Give what you can, when you can. Both options go directly to MAC’s organizing work.
We stay accountable to the community we serve, and that means being open about our funding. Donation amounts are included in MAC's public financial statements. Your name is always kept private unless you choose to share it. If you're giving on behalf of an organization, know that your organization's name and sector will be part of our public record. Transparency isn't a formality for us. It's a value.
Contribute what you can, when you can. A one-time donation is a direct act of solidarity: no strings, no recurring commitment. Every amount makes a difference to an organization running entirely on community support.
Sustain the movement. Monthly giving lets us plan ahead, organize consistently, and show up for our community without wondering if the lights stay on. Even $5 a month adds up to something real across a year.
MAC is a provincially incorporated nonprofit, not a registered charity. Donations are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt. We know that matters to some people and we want to be upfront about it.
Absolutely! The Migrant Action Centre tracks every dollar in and out and is happy to share as much information as we can. We do so by publishing financial statements. We might be a bit behind as this website gets built but we are hoping to have our finances, since incorporation, made public.
MAC is a horizontally organized collective. Financial decisions are made collectively by our members. There is no paid staff. We operate on the principle that the people doing the work should have a say in how resources are used.
Yes, and we want to be clear that you are not obligated to. Migrants are already contributing to this movement in ways that money cannot measure. If you have capacity and want to contribute financially, we welcome it. If you do not, that changes nothing about your place here.
If donating is not an option right now, there are other ways to fuel the movement. Volunteer your time and skills. Stay connected and informed. Share MAC’s work with people who need to hear it. Solidarity takes many forms and none of them requires a credit card.
