The Migrant Action Centre (MAC) unequivocally stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination, human rights, and justice. Our stances:
Support for Palestinian Resistance: MAC recognizes the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to resist occupation and oppression. We emphasize the fundamental right to self-defense against an occupying force.
Right of Return: We strongly advocate for the right of return for all Palestinian refugees, a right that is essential for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and is a cornerstone of justice for the Palestinian people.
Condemning Oppression and Disparity in Global Response: MAC denounces the stark disparity in global responses to resistance movements, particularly the biased treatment against BIPOC communities like Palestinians. This bias reflects deeply ingrained systemic racism and Islamophobia in international politics.
Opposing Weaponized Narratives: We challenge the narratives that portray Palestinian resistance as illegitimate while excusing or justifying the actions of the Israeli government. Such narratives are a tool of oppression, and we commit to countering them with facts and advocacy.
Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza: MAC calls for immediate humanitarian aid and an end to the siege of Gaza. The use of inhumane weapons, such as the use of white phosphorus and the bombing of hospitals and civilian infrastructure, are egregious violations of international law and human rights.
