Envisioning a Provincial Migrant Justice Week in Newfoundland and Labrador
The Migrant Action Centre (MAC) is excited to announce that we are in the planning stages for a landmark event - a Provincial Migrant Justice Week in Newfoundland and Labrador. This week-long event aims to amplify the voices of migrants, build solidarity among supporters, and push for systemic change in the pursuit of social justice.
Our vision for this week is not just about awareness, but action. We believe in the power of community, and we see this event as an opportunity to unite migrants and supporters alike. One of the key events we're planning is a Solidarity March and Rally. This peaceful demonstration will allow community members to publicly show their support for migrant rights and social justice. In addition to the march, we are planning a series of workshops and training sessions aimed at empowering migrants and their allies. Art and culture are vital for building understanding and breaking down barriers. That's why we're planning an Art and Cultural Exhibition to showcase the work of migrant artists. But we can't do this alone. We're currently looking for dedicated individuals to join our Organizing Committee.
